Jewellery Care

Each piece of jewellery from Rebeccadavis.com is carefully handmade and therefore delicate. The following tips will help you keep your jewellery looking at its best.

  • Jewellery should be put on last and taken off first while dressing.
  • Always store your jewellery in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
  • Avoid contact with water, excessive perspiration and chemicals e.g. Perfume, creams, chlorine and hairspray.
  • Do not go swimming while wearing jewellery.
  • Avoid excessive banging of bracelets/bangles off one another as stones or crystals may come loose.

Special designer information

Merle O Grady

Alongside laser-cut Perspex (which can be wiped clean), Merle uses 22k gold vermeil, 14k gold fill and sterling silver with some gold, silver or rhodium plated brass. Chains will inevitably darken slightly over time but to clean the metal parts of your jewellery polish very gently with a soft polishing cloth. She uses wire-wrapping techniques to create the jewellery therefore recommend it not to be worn on very fine or delicate knitwear with an open weave. Merle uses natural semi precious gem stones which may vary in shape, size and colour and natural inclusions can occur. To clean semi-precious stones use a soft cloth very gently and only when necessary.

Makki

Makki has an Eco fashion policy and are very ethical in how they work. The eels and salmon are not farmed for the fashion industry and the skins would otherwise be discarded.
